YOU AND ME This interdisciplinary project deals with the fascination with chemical reactions that take place in the human body and reinterprets them with paint, foam and embroideries. Substance P is released from the terminals of specific sensory nerves and is associated with feeling pain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure centers and is responsible for feeling happy or in love. Adrenaline is a powerful hormone produced during high stress or exciting situations. What happens if one translates something as concrete and measureable as a chemical reaction into something expressive and abstract?
