YOU AND ME

This interdisciplinary project deals with the fascination with chemical reactions that take place in the human body and reinterprets them with paint, foam and embroideries.

Substance P is released from the terminals of specific sensory nerves and is associated with feeling pain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure centers and is responsible for feeling happy or in love. Adrenaline is a powerful hormone produced during high stress or exciting situations.

What happens if one translates something as concrete and measureable as a chemical reaction into something expressive and abstract? How contradictorily are art and science, verifiable facts and elusive emotions? How to start and where to end? Who wrote this story about you and me?
